Enhancing Location-Based Experiences with a Geo-Fencing App

A geo-fencing app designed to provide users with a curated location flow, enabling them to create and manage virtual boundaries around specific areas. The goal was to simplify setup, enhance usability, and deliver personalized, location-based experiences.

Users needed an intuitive way to define geofenced zones, receive relevant alerts, and access customized recommendations without technical complexity. The challenge was to create a seamless and efficient workflow for setting up and managing geo-fences.

We conducted user interviews with travelers, event organizers, and business owners to understand their needs and challenges with location-based services. Key insights included:

Users can choose or search for a place on the map to set their geofence, ensuring precision and ease of use.

Allow users to adjust the radius or draw custom geofences to define their desired area.

Enable users to set specific actions, such as sending notifications or tracking data, when they enter or exit the geofenced area.

Deliver tailored recommendations, alerts, or experiences based on geofenced locations, including promotions and event information.

Provide users with data on visits, engagement, and interactions within the defined area to enhance decision-making.

Low-fidelity wireframes were created to outline user flows, followed by interactive prototypes for usability testing. Feedback was gathered iteratively to refine the experience.

By streamlining the geofencing process and integrating curated recommendations, this app successfully enhances location-based experiences, making navigation and personalization effortless for users.
